Bhutanese culture is dynamic, creative, and based on steadfast convictions that have emerged from the intellect and wisdom of the Bhutanese people ad leadership for the benefit of the Bhutanese community, society and country. This noble creation includes traditional values, customs, beliefs, rituals, languages (Spoken and written), food culture, etiquette and thirteen traditional arts and crafts.
It is expressed in the performing arts, festivals, storytelling, folktales, proverbs, riddles, drama, prose, epic songs, poetry, legends, myths, charms, prayers, architectural designs, traditional games, and sports.
Bhutan’s diverse cultural heritage includes both tangible and intangible creative expression. In general, Bhutanese people live in harmonious and progressive society through the preservation and promotion of their ancient cultural traditions and values that reflect their unique cultural identity. You get to see all facets of Bhutan – people, culture, monuments, mountains, landscapes, wildlife, etc – with comparatively minimal travel time on the road.
